About Porta Pro Chem
Porta Pro Chem is an established, well-respected supplier in the portal restroom industry. They have multiple distribution centers throughout the United States, offering everything from toilet paper and paper towels to cleaning products and soaps. Porta Pro has a huge range of loyal wholesale clients who regularly receive shipments to their businesses.
The Project
Porta Pro Chem needed a new website that modernized their online presence while providing pretty intricate wholesale functionality. So we built a site for them that, while updated, still had a traditional, clean feel. We improved their product categorization and made everything easy to get to from a mega menu.
The majority of the work, however, was on the backend. It was important to the client that their existing wholesale customers have a seamless experience on the new site. We imported all of their existing customers and set up accounts automatically for them, with specific rates for each and every one. We also developed a .CSV file so that Porta Pro can update those rates and add customers as needed without having to manually change each one.
Pricing is hidden on the front-end of the site for the majority of products, available to logged-in customers only. New visitors can click a button to submit a quote. There are, however, a few select products that first-time customers can purchase right off the bat.
We also set up unique shipping rules and rates for different products and types of customer, and both invoicing and online payment tools. All of this combined for an effective, functional wholesale site!
