WP Rocket’s MCP access launch earns early AI visibility with video

Blue Ivory produced eight videos in seven days to capitalize on the news

AI product news has a short shelf life. WP Rocket had a tight window for making an announcement about MCP access count. They needed to explain the feature and get the news in front of users while it was still fresh.

With production support from Blue Ivory, videos began appearing in Google AI Overviews and surfacing in Perplexity, Claude, and ChatGPT within days.

The challenge

When WP Rocket became the first website performance plugin to provide MCP access, it had major news to share. It also had to translate an advanced topic into something all users could easily understand.

The MCP update makes it possible for agencies and others managing multiple websites to access performance data using AI assistants like Claude and Codex. But the WP Rocket marketing team was under a time crunch and needed to get the word out quickly and effectively.

WP Rocket also wanted to maximize online visibility across channels, including AI search, which their core audience of web developers and agencies uses to conduct research and compare solutions.

The process

WP Rocket realized that video should be a pillar of the content strategy around the MCP access announcement. Not only would videos provide an ideal format for educating and onboarding users, but they could also use it across channels and support increased visibility in AI search.

But producing eight polished videos while the release was still timely required moving fast.

Before receiving full access to the software update, Blue Ivory recorded scratch voiceovers and began building the structure of each video, including title screens, graphics, and other visual elements. Once the final screen recordings arrived over a holiday weekend, the team moved into production immediately.

Blue Ivory filmed the announcement content in our Kansas City studio, found a new voice actor for the tutorials, and created a distinct graphics package for the series. With the clock ticking, eight videos were finalized in approximately one week.

The results

Video played a clear role in increasing online visibility, especially in AI search.

Unbranded queries about MCP access and performance plugins surfaced WP Rocket videos in Google’s AI Overviews (AIOs).

Perplexity retrieved MCP access tutorial videos for related how-to queries. And both Claude and ChatGPT discovered the announcement, citing YouTube content as a source.

The announcement video and MCP tutorial videos racked up more than 800 organic views in just a few days

Video and the AI visibility boost:

  • Video content cited and featured in Google AI Overviews for relevant queries.
  • Tutorial videos surfaced in Perplexity.
  • Claude and ChatGPT discovered the news and videos using web search.
  • 800+ views across the video series on YouTube in the first week.

“WP Rocket had a plan and put out a consistent message on multiple channels. We helped them conquer the difficult production requirements with a tight turnaround, and they’re reaping the rewards. Blue Ivory’s production work helped create video assets that became part of WP Rocket’s early AI-search visibility.”
