About Woo
Woo is the driving force behind WooCommerce, the flexible, open source commerce platform built on WordPress. Its mission is to democratize commerce and put people in control of their livelihoods — empowering anyone, anywhere, to sell anything.
Today, WooCommerce powers more than four million online stores and 31% of the top one million ecommerce sites, giving entrepreneurs, developers, agencies, and enterprise brands the freedom to build, customize, and grow on their own terms.
The Work
Since 2019, Blue Ivory has been the primary contributor to Woo’s official blog, educating millions of store owners, builders, and prospective entrepreneurs on how to start, design, build, manage, and grow their ecommerce businesses.
Working hand in hand with Woo team members across marketing, product, partnerships, community, and customer success, we’ve created content that supports every stage of the merchant journey — from first-time entrepreneurs wondering what licenses they need to growing brands considering new shipping strategies, marketing channels, and operational tools.
That range is what makes our work so meaningful.
The work has spanned industries just as wide: Restaurants, salons, services, automotive manufacturers, cat food retailers, kids’ toys, music equipment, handcrafted goods, specialty food, apparel, digital products, nonprofit organizations, and everything in between.
We’ve also helped them balance the needs of a global open source community with the business goals of Woo and commercial partners. That means creating content that supports merchants first while thoughtfully connecting readers to relevant paid products, extensions, payment solutions, marketing tools, and partner integrations.
Beyond traditional blog content, Blue Ivory has coordinated with major Woo partners like PayPal, Google, Klaviyo, and others; conducted interviews with partners, agencies, and store owners; developed customer stories; created hand-drawn illustrations and custom featured images; and supported select video and interview projects. The result: a long-term creative partnership that helped WooCommerce educate millions of entrepreneurs, support a global open source commerce community, amplify partner and merchant stories, and keep the official blog useful, human, and true to the mission of democratizing commerce.
